Let Them Eat Cake...

So Sage and I have started making these fun cakes for birthdays and whatnot - she started it really, making a boob cake for our friend Rich's birthday...and then we made one for Darcy's birthday in October....(She works for Wheel of Fortune, in case you were wondering)
and then for our friend Sharon's birthday last night, we did another themed cake!! Check it out!

I think we're getting better and better as we go. What will we do next?! Stay tuned...

Here are some other photos from her bday. Even though I am still sick, I braved the outside world with a huge pack of tissues in my purse. We went to this cool place in West Hollywood that I'd never heard of before- Holloway at Palihouse - and it was nice b/c it was a big open space with some couches and tables...very chill atmosphere while still being a relatively posh WeHo location, which seems hard to do.

Okay, how do you make those cakes? They are awesome. You know how I love cake!

It's not as hard as you might think...it's all about having a two layer cake with some kind of filling in the middle, letting the cake cool enough to cut it into whatever shape you want (or buying a pan for that shape), then rolling out fondant to cover it...smoothing it out and then getting other fondant to decorate. You have to ice the cake before laying the fondant on it to make it stick...and then when decorating with colored fondant, you want to put a bit of water underneath the pieces to make them stick to each other.
We should do one together some time!
