Yesterday marked the beginning of a new life for 3101 S. Barrington Apt 15.....the old skin of the slip-cover couch has been shed.....Hurray for the new sectional! Hurray for more space! See the remains of the old.... and the brilliance of the new!
Okay, Okay- I know, it's just a new couch. But seriously, it's like we just moved into a new place. I'm so frickin excited!
:) yeah- their cat presence is seriously all over the new couch already. We're trying to train them to just sit on the chaise part, where we have put a blanket, but that's not working so much.
No free-time reading right now. It's all work baby.
BUT as a side note, I read the Hunger Games Trilogy this past month. I loved them, though I took issue with how the third book unfolded. More in terms of delivery than plot.
CRITIC'S CORNER: here are my thoughts on the latest movies I've seen...
TRUE GRIT
As expected, we really liked TRUE GRIT. I wouldn't say "loved", but definitely enjoyed and respected this remake of the classic Western novel. We'd recently seen the original film with John Wayne, which I was very happy to have done in advance of seeing this new version. There were definitely changes made, that I've read more closely resembles the book, but all in all, it felt very similar. All the performances were excellent - you'd expect really nothing less from Bridges and Damon, and I agree with the majority assessment that Hailee Steinfeld was excellent. (As it were, she was in our Nickelodeon pilot last year!) All that being said, I don't think this is an Academy Award Winner- though it should get a nomination. It was great to watch, but in the end, a movie I don't need to see again.

Wow! I'm a super-fan of the pretty new couch! Now you just have to make sure Sundance and Butch don't claw on that gorgeous leather... :)
